Renee gives police crash course in charm
A LUCKY police officer gets a smile and a pat on the shoulder from Bridget Jones star Renee Zellweger.
The officer and two colleagues dashed to her side when she phoned for help after her silver Mercedes off-roader was hit by a wrong-way driver in Beverly Hills.
The actress, 40, is “fine” after the minor accident which left her vehicle dented.
Police Lieutenant Tony Lee confirmed that the crash was not Miss Zellweger’s fault and said the actress had been charming to deal with.
Well, he would say that after she gave hugs to the officers who came to her rescue.
“A green Ford Explorer made an illegal U-turn in front of her silver Mercedes,” he said. “Ms Zellweger was not injured. The damage to her car was very minor. She was very polite and sincere.”
The actress was travelling alone when she was hit by the Ford. This week the Oscar-winning star told OK! magazine she was fed up being asked how she felt now she was 40.
Ms Zellweger, who reached the landmark birthday in May, said she felt the same as ever. “I’m so sad that everyone keeps pointing to this birthday. ‘You had this birthday, how do you feel now?’ I’m thinking, I feel nothing different.”
