Corrie: Stephen drowns Rufus in the pool
Steven Meo, 45, has left the cobbles for good after the soap’s sinister serial killer storyline saw Stephen Reid (Todd Boyce) murder his character Rufus Donahue.
The Coronation Street actor bid a fond farewell following the dramatic scenes, which saw Rufus meet his end in the swimming pool of his luxury home.
Rufus died after Stephen drugged him with LSD, pushed him into the pool and brutally drowned him.
It happened after the pair had been working together, but things turned sour when the killer became unhappy with his fellow businessman's constant demands.
After his character met his grim end, Steven took to Twitter to thank ITV fans and to praise his co-star Todd.

In view of his 3,590 followers, he described the actor as an "absolute dream" to work with on the killer storyline.
"I had such a lovely time on the Cobbles,” he wrote. “Todd Boyce was an absolute dream to work with.
“Rufus certainly wasn’t the nicest guy I’ve played, but I had a lot of fun being such a dipstick! #Corrie.” (sic)

Fans of the show took ot the comments section to praise the actor and send their best wishes following his exit.
“Great work Steve,” fellow actor Irvine Iqbal penned with clapping and fist bump emojis.
While Matthew wrote: “Congratulations Steven, I’ve been watching you for a long time on Gavin and Stacey I was excited when you was announced for Corrie, hope you have had a great time at the cobbles so jealous!” (sic)
@Manlikemart commented: “Sad Rufus died. He was a brilliant character, I know I should have disliked him, but i had a soft spot for him. Brilliant storyline with you and Steven.” (sic)
“I will miss Rufus making trouble for Stephen,” Joanne wrote with a laughing emoji. “There was great scenes between you both.” (sic)
While an unverified account under Todd’s name added: “What a treat it was to work with you Steven! It was just a joy - you so very real and majestic actor you.”
Coronation Street continues tonight at 8pm on ITV.
