Gregg Wallace talks about his day
Gregg Wallace said yesterday he is “very proud” of his autistic son Sid for attending his first day at school and “settling in well”.
The MasterChef star, 58, gushed as he received a glowing report from his youngest's teacher that noted how the youngster had remained “so calm” despite being in a new setting.
Taking to his Instagram, the presenter said in view of his 170,000 followers: “Sid started his first day at school today, so keen to find how that went. I got a text from the teacher saying he was settling in well.
“Bless him, very proud of him.”
A few slides later Gregg shared a photo of Sid’s day of activities and the teacher's comments on his exceptional behaviour.
The report read: “Sid had a lovely first day in Millipede.
“He has been so calm and loved investigating his new room.
“He has absolutely loved being outside in the rain," his teacher added.
Gregg's son was diagnosed with autism last year.

They had to wait until he was three years old until they could get him diagnosed.
The presenter has previously opened up about his son's health and said Sid still cannot speak and still wears nappies.
"Sid is four years old, Sid is autistic, Sid is non-verbal. He’s still in nappies," Gregg said.
"He doesn’t use cutlery. His choice of foods is very limited, but he’s a beautiful boy."
Gregg continued to MailOnline: "Luckily we don’t have many sensory issues. He enjoys play, he enjoys cuddles."
When asked by Coleen Nolan and Kaye Adams what the signs were while on Loose Women in June, Gregg said: "For us – and we found out that he wasn't answering to his name, he wasn't playing peek-a-boo.
"He was walking and running around but he's got autism and he's got something called global development delay. So he's not speaking."
Gregg went on to say: "But he is lovely and he is cuddly and he is happy. And if he wants something he grabs your hand and takes you.”
