Nixon heading back to TV
CYNTHIA NIXON is swapping SEX AND THE CITY for the THE BIG C - the actress has signed up to join the cast of the new TV show.
Nixon shot to stardom in Sex And The City and was last seen on the big screen in the second movie sequel spin-off from the hit small screen show.
The 44 year old is now heading back to TV once again, starring opposite Laura Linney in the new series, about a teacher who is given a terminal cancer diagnosis.
Nixon will enjoy a four-episode recurring role, according to Access Hollywood.
The programme's subject matter is one close to Nixon's heart - in 2008, she revealed she had battled breast cancer two years before (06). She beat the disease and has since become a breast cancer activist.
Nixon's previous TV credits away from Sex And The City include guest appearances in ER and House, as well as a role in a 2007 episode of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, which earned her an Emmy Award.
