The Gone Girl actress, 44, looked elegant as she attended Sunday night's awards. She stood alongside a star-studded lineup and was named one of the best dressed stars.
Donning a black vintage gown from Dior she oozed class. The dress featured a lace on the bodice and skirt, with a chic embellished netting covering her chest and arms.
The stunning look was completed by her wearing a veil. She revealed that the headpiece was a vital part of her outfit following her recent accident. Discussing her outfit in an interview with Variety, Pike joked that she thought it had a “weird funeral vibe”.
Clearing up the confusion, she was asked if the piece was a helmet or a hat, the star responded that it was, in fact, “a protective veil”. Despite being healed she admitted it was a necessity because she needed a layer over her face.
She said: “Well I had an accident over Christmas, actually. I had a skiing accident.
“I had to think, [it’s] not what you want, knowing you’re coming to the Golden Globes on January 7.”
She added: “On December 26, my face was entirely smashed up, and I thought, I need to do something.”
The British actress confirmed that, despite her face being healed, she wanted to wear the garment for protection.
