Alex Jones fights back tears after son's milestone as host absent from BBC's The One Show
Alex Jones reflected on her home life when the BBC presenter made a candid admission on social media as her son marked a significant milestone.
Alex Jones celebrated her eldest son Teddy's birthday as he turned seven as the presenter issued a warning to parents.
The One Show host took to Instagram and said she was in a reflective mood today as she admitted her children are growing up too fast.
In an earlier post, she took to her stories and shared a photo of a balloon shaped in the number seven alongside a football balloon.
It was captioned: "The years are flying by... [followed by a crying emoji]."
Taking to the picture-sharing site today, she shared a video titled "Warning. Content a bit deeper than usual for me.".
Alex began: "Hello. Happy Monday. I've come out for a little walk. I'm obviously not doing much walking at the minute. I'm just sitting here enjoying the view.
"But I feel really reflective because Ted turns seven today and we had a party with all his class yesterday and it was brilliant but it was chaotic. You don't really absorb anything."
She continued: "I've just sat here looking at the clouds go past thinking, wow. They tell you to absorb it and hold on. Their childhood goes in a flash but of course you do. You hold on so tight and still there's nothing you can do about it to slow time down.
"This is very reflective, very deep for me. I just thought lots of parents would probably say the same."

Alex went on to share that the family will spend the rest of the day celebrating her son's special day as the presenter shared she would be absent from The One Show.
"We're going for burgers after school. I've taken the day off and we're going to see Wonkas. It's all good and I feel super happy and grateful to have him and his brother and sister. But it's a funny old thing," she concluded.
Alex shares her three children sons, Teddy, seven, Kit, six and two-year-old daughter Annie with husband Charlie Thomson.
The couple tied the knot in Wales on New Year's Eve in 2015 at Cardiff Castle after meeting in 2011.
