Nicole Scherzinger and Lewis Hamilton's untold story into romance exposed by will.i.am
Nicole Scherzinger's romance with Lewis Hamilton has been addressed by pop star will.i.am, who revealed that he was the one who first introduced the pair to each other.
Will.i.am spilled the beans on how ex-Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger and F1 racing driver Lewis Hamilton first got together - and he's taking the credit. The pair dated for almost a decade before finally splitting in 2015, and Nicole is considered to have been the most serious public relationship Lewis has ever had.
Now will.i.am has said he originally introduced them at the 2007 MTV Music Awards in Munich. Taking to the YouTube show F1 Briefings, he stated: "I met Lewis in November 2007 and we were doing the [awards show].
"Me and Nicole Scherzinger were in the VIP section and a dear friend of mine did the afterparty. He comes up to me like, ‘Hey there’s this F1 driver who wants to meet you and Nicole.’ So at that point in time I introduced Lewis to Nicole [and] through Nicole, I became friends with Lewis.”
At the time, Nicole was considered one of the hottest frontwomen in music, having previously released chart hits like Don't Cha (Wish Your Girlfriend Was Hot Like Me) and Buttons, which featured a guest appearance from Snoop Dogg. The Pussycat Dolls also recorded a track called I Don't Need A Man - but two years on from the huge hit it was clear that Nicole and Lewis were in a relationship.
That fateful day in Munich, after she and will.i.am performed their joint track Baby Love together, she and Lewis are said to have had their first chat. They quickly became close, but their eight-year relationship was blighted by ups and downs.

On one occasion in 2013, she heartbreakingly broke down on The X Factor, a show which saw her judge musical talents.
She explained at the time: "I am not a robot and I wear my heart on my sleeve [but] at the end of the day, I want to be a professional and make it about the contestants and not about me."
During their separation, she was linked to Harry Styles, with whom she was pictured partying, but she kept her lips sealed on whether or not the pair ever dated.
She and Lewis eventually got back together before splitting for good in 2015.

Lewis told Vanity Fair in 2022 that he hadn't had a serious relationship since their painful split, explaining that he struggled to prioritise both work and love life commitments at the same time.
"I’m really just super focused on work," he revealed, adding: "I’ve realised that I can’t do two things or three things at once, I’ve got to focus on one."
Nicole, on the other hand, now 45, is currently engaged to Scottish rugby union player Thom Evans.
The Mirror reported that she was keen to take things to the next level, after she described him as "the man of my dreams" and said she "definitely" wanted children "at the right time".
Nicole is one of the special guests on tonight's Big Night of Musicals 2024 by the National Lottery, hosted by Jason Manford.
