The actor died earlier this week after spending time at a care home in Darlington. Sadly, he had around two years of ill health prior to his death.
The Welsh star found fame for his comedy as well as being known for his role as Keith Bishop in The Office, which was written by Ricky Gervais.
Back in August 2021, he shot scenes for Harvey Greenfield is Running Late, which premieres in the UK at the Northampton Film Festival next month. The movie is based on a hugely successful one-man show which was first shown at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2019.
In the film's trailer, Ewen attends a burial in the churchyard and attempts to read a eulogy from his tablet. However, the device blasts out a chirpy version of Handel's Hallelujah Chorus.
Ewen was heard in the hilarious scenes: “Lord, give me the strength to find the mute button.”
Jonnie Howards who directed the film first worked with Ewen on a short film back in 2015 called Triple Word Scare.

Mr Howards told MailOnline that his “comedic timing and deadpan deliveries are inimitable”.
During the chat, he said: “I was truly fortunate to have collaborated with him on a couple of projects, he was genuinely one of the greats who always supported the little guys and independent productions.”
He continued: “It's been absolutely bittersweet timing as we released the first footage of the film yesterday that features a clip from one of Ewen's funeral gags and to then have this news today is heart-breaking as he truly gives a scene-stealing performance in the film.”
