Hannah Waddingham told a photographer at the Olivier Awards not to be a “d**k” after he made a sexist request.
The 49-year-old returned to host the iconic Olivier Awards for the second time in a row at the Royal Albert Hall this weekend and had not one but three outfit changes.
The first was a dazzling lilac dress with a high slit which she wore on the red carpet, posing for the crowds of photographers but it didn’t take long before Waddingham was left less than impressed.
In a video taken and shared to X, formerly Twitter, by a bystander, a photographer is thought to have shouted at the Ted Lasso actress “show me leg”.
Understandably, Waddingham was unwilling to let this slide and called out the photographer for the sexist remark.

Clearly taken aback, she replied: “Oh my God, you’d never say that to a man, my friend.
“Don’t be a d**k, otherwise I’ll move off. Don’t say ‘show me leg’. No.”
Before the photographer was able to reply, Waddingham walked off with those around her cheering and applauding the star for calling him out.
Of course, fans couldn’t help but praise Waddingham on social media for standing up for herself.

One user wrote: “I could not love her more! I absolutely LOVE that she stands her ground and will not let people treat her like crap.”
Another said: “Damn rude photographer. I’m glad she called him out!
“And I’m glad her friend Michael Ball was there to give her a hug; I’m sure she needed it in that moment.”
“I only know her from Ted Lasso, and I absolutely adored her. Now this? This is boss!”, a third commented.
While someone else agreed: “So proud of Hannah, good for her. I would have done the same thing. Bravo!”
This isn’t the first time the actress has dealt with sexism in her career, as she previously opened up to Glamour on the matter.
“When it comes to dealing with sexism, especially in my industry, I was on the receiving end of it mostly when I was modelling back in my twenties, with some of the nonsense that misogynistic male photographers would throw at me to put me in my place”, Waddingham said.
“I called them out straight away – and they would then try to fight their corner, but I never let it go; I always called it out – but back then, it was at a time when people didn’t back you up.
“But I know that I’ve always given off an air of: ‘I will literally kill you if you treat me like that!’
“I think it’s important that when you see someone behaving badly, you call them out and batter them over the head with it.”
