Wood pays tribute to Higgins
ROLLING STONES rocker RONNIE WOOD has paid tribute to his late pal ALEX HIGGINS, admitting he already misses the beloved snooker star.
The former world champion, who endured a lengthy battle with throat cancer, was found dead at his home in his native Belfast, Northern Ireland on Saturday (24Jul10), aged 61.
And Wood, a longtime friend of Higgins, has been left devastated by his pal's death.
He tells The Sun, "I miss him already. He was a terrific guy and a good friend. Much of my love of snooker came from watching him - just magic.
"He was a brave and courageous player, as he was to prove in his last great fight against cancer. God bless our Alex."
