Roman Kemp, best known for his roles presenting on Capital FM radio and BBC's The One Show, has recently become an advocate for men's mental health.
Roman Kemp delivers 'emotional' goodbye to Capital Breakfast
Roman Kemp has shared that he had to "switch anti-depressants" as he was experiencing low sex drive. The BBC presenter spoke exclusively to The Times about men's mental health and his next career move after quitting Capital FM.
The radio broadcaster, who is the son of Spandau Ballet's Martin and Wham! star Shirlie, candidly opened up about his low libido and how he's "back up and running."
He said: “But it’s reality. It’s a very common thing that antidepressants can do. But I spoke to my doctor, he switched me onto a different one and now I’m back up and running.
“There’s not really a lot of secrets that I wouldn’t divulge if I don’t think they can benefit other people. I had a massive fear of not being able to have kids — I think men should go and get sperm counts, check for lumps, testicular cancer, things like that. Men’s health in general, they don’t talk about it.”
Roman has recently become an advocate for men's mental health and was involved in an emotional BBC Three documentary last year which explores improving mental health for young lives.

After losing his friend Joe, Roman struggled with his own mental health in 2019 and has since tried to fight for solutions. He used his social media to reach out to MPs and wrote a letter to make sure that schools have 100 percent access to mental health support teams.
Roman is best known for his role on Capital FM, but he left the station in March this year after a decade. He previously shared his fears that "he won't be in showbiz for much longer" as he battles a serious health condition.
He told his fans last year that he had been diagnosed with with sleep apnoea due to his hectic work schedule. Speaking to MailOnline, he shared: "My tiredness levels were debilitating, and they said to me it was because of my job and I said this is different.
