Ruth Langsford admits 'We live in hope' as she shares fears over Eamonn Holmes' health
Eamonn Holmes has been undergoing intensive physiotherapy sessions almost daily in hopes of regaining full mobility after breaking his shoulder last year.
Ruth Langsford, the Loose Women star, and wife of Eamonn Holmes, has shared her concerns about her husband's health, admitting she fears he "might never be 100 percent right" following his prolonged battle with severe back pain.
The couple, who have been together for over two decades, are facing the reality of Eamonn's condition after nearly two years of enduring chronic discomfort. Ruth, 64, opened up about the situation, revealing: "I don't know how much Eamonn's mobility will improve. We live in hope."
She continued to express the challenges they face, stating: "He does the physio, but there might have to be some acceptance that this might never be 100 percent right. With any care situation - and there are millions of carers in this country - it isn't always easy. It's testing but we manage as a family."
In an interview with Woman's Weekly, Ruth also reflected on the broader implications of health issues, saying: "I look at Eamonn, who's had his health and back problems, and it makes you realise how important your health is."
Eamonn Holmes, a beloved television figure, has been undergoing intensive physiotherapy sessions almost daily in hopes of regaining full mobility. Despite undergoing surgery for bulging discs, he suffered a further blow when he fell and broke his shoulder last year.
Recent photographs captured him using two walking sticks in London's Notting Hill and later seated in a wheelchair after enduring another demanding physio session, as reported by the Mirror on Friday.
A confidant of 64-year-old Eamonn revealed to the Mirror: "Eamonn has been using walking aids for around 18 months now so not much has changed unfortunately. He is doing everything he can but the lack of progress from the physio has obviously been a bit frustrating. But he continues to have physio sessions pretty much every day and continues to work hard in his rehabilitation."
"He is in pain a lot of the time and so that is not fun at all but he keeps going and he is loving his work still and he is a journalist at heart."
Despite the constant discomfort, Eamonn perseveres with his role, finding some solace in the fact that his job at GB News from Monday to Wednesday allows him to remain seated, which offers some relief.

Eamonn himself has previously expressed concerns about his potential for recovery. In January, the broadcaster spoke candidly about the "harsh reality" that he may never walk unaided again.
Reflecting on his health struggles, he shared: "It's as if somebody up there is playing with my life. In the past year, I've had an operation on my back which went wrong and has confined me to a wheelchair. I've fallen and broken my shoulder. Honestly, you could not make it up."
He further commented: "I have tried every treatment, but you go, 'Maybe I'll never get out of it,' which is a harsh reality to face."
Despite the challenges, Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford's bond remains unbreakable, with Ruth providing unwavering support. The couple's romance began in 1997 after being set up by friends, leading to a lengthy courtship before Eamonn proposed, culminating in their 2010 wedding.
