Brooklyn Beckham admits he “can’t help how I was born” as he fires back at criticism around industry nepotism.

The famous son of footballer David Beckham and Spice Girl Victoria Beckham, 25, has dabbled in modelling and photography and has now made a name for himself as an influencer chef.

He’s now getting ready to launch his new brand, Cloud23, a new culinary venture partnered with Whole Foods expected to sell a range of products to foodies.

However, Brooklyn has joined a large group of public figures with famous parents or relatives facing backlash to their wealth and success.

I couldn’t ask for better parents,” he recently told InStyle.

“And I’m just trying to work my a** off and trying to make a name for myself. That’s all I can say, really.”

His culinary posts on Instagram often face mockery, including a recent video with Chosen Foods garnering claims he should “get a job at McDonald’s”.

While David and Victoria’s eldest child has now found his passion in food, he revealed his original dream was to follow in his dad’s formidable footsteps.

“I always wanted to go the football route,” he confirmed. “I loved it so much, I just didn’t have the right head for it.

“When you’re growing up, especially with the dad that I had, everyone’s like, ‘Oh, the oldest son’s going to be a footballer.’ And I loved it. I really, really, really did, and I miss it so much.”

Brooklyn went on to explain that his parents were more concerned with his attitude towards life and other people than what he actually ended up doing as a career.

“They were just like, ‘As long as you’re nice, you’re humble, and you work hard and you put your head down, that’s the most important thing," he shared.

“‘You can do whatever you want and it’s whatever you choose to do - try and be the best at that’.”

Brooklyn now doesn’t let the haters phase him after advice from his mum to “prove them wrong”.
