Another presenter will lead the Katie Piper Breakfast Show as the activist suffered an adverse reaction after surgery on her eye.
On Sunday, the 40-year-old announced she would be missing from her ITV talk show for an “unexpected medical procedure”.
As a result, Katie was replaced by Charlotte Hawkins while she dealt with the long-lasting effects of an acid attack in 2008.
She was faced with life-changing chemical burns and blindness in one eye at the hands of her ex-boyfriend and an accomplice.
Despite her recent operation, it was revealed the ITV presenter will be stepping in for Katie once again as she recovers from a “bad reaction.”
According to a source: “Katie had quite a bad reaction to this operation, which has left her feeling really poorly.
“Much as she’d love to be back on the sofa on Saturday, at the moment it’s just not realistic and she acknowledges this.
“She is concentrating on her recovery so that she can be back to her best as soon as possible.”
“ITV have been really understanding and have said to her that she should take all the time she needs before coming back,” the insider told The Mirror.
