With the Paris Olympic Games firmly under way, there are a number of leading BBC commentators covering all the action. One of the key broadcasters is Clare Balding who is a familiar face for big sporting events.
The BBC has released its annual salary report from 2023, which reveals the highest-earning stars within the co-operation. Clare first joined the BBC has a trainee in 1994 before working her way into presentation.
The much-loved presenter is now one of the biggest names in BBC's sports coverage, recently presenting the Wimbledon Championships and is a regular on the BBC Sports Personality of the Year.
Clare did not not appear on the annual salary report from 2023. Match of the Day presenter Gary Lineker topped the list with a whopping salary between £1,350,000 to £1,354,999.
It is estimated that her net worth is roughly £1 million, partly due to her work with the BBC, which was reported to be to between £205,000 and £209,999 in the 2022/2023 report.

Away from BBC sports, Clare also covers the international dog show Crufts and has written severals books, including her memoir My Animals and Other Family.
Further down on the 2023 list is Stephen Nolan, who comes in fifth place with a salary of £400,000-£404,999. The broadcaster is well-known in Northern Ireland, especially on Radio Ulster, 5 Live and Nolan Live.
The BBC's annual salary review gives the pay details of its highest-earning presenters and staff who earn more than £150,000 from the licence fee within the year.

The other top five highest earners include broadcaster Zoe Ball, news anchor Huw Edwards and pundit Alan Shearer.
Former presenter Huw Edwards resigned from the BBC in April, despite having not appeared on the broadcaster since last summer. In the annual salary reveal, Huw saw his salary increase by £40,000 last year.
The report states that Edwards was paid at least £475,000 between 2023 and 2024, despite being off-air since July 2023. He remained on the payroll whilst he was suspended, which is normal BBC policy.
