Memoir that landed Townshend in trouble to be released in 2012
The biography that landed THE WHO star PETE TOWNSHEND in trouble with the law is to be released in 2012, almost 20 years after the rocker started work on his memoirs.
Who He? is set to hit shelves at the end of next year (12), according to his publishers at HarperCollins.
Townshend was infamously cautioned by police officials in 2003 for accessing child pornography on the Internet as part of his research for the tome.
A statement from Townshend about the scandal read, "I believe I was sexually abused between the age of five and six and a half when in the care of my maternal grandmother, who was mentally ill at the time.
"I cannot remember clearly what happened, but my creative work tends to throw up nasty shadows... Some of the things I have seen on the net have informed my book."
The rocker then began posting extracts from the book online in 2007.
