Ridley Scott to make debut as TV director on The Vatican pilot
SIR RIDLEY SCOTT is turning his attentions to TV directing for the pilot of a small-screen drama about the Catholic Church.
The filmmaker has focused on cinema throughout his lengthy career, stepping behind the camera on some of the biggest movies in history, including Alien, Gladiator and Blade Runner.
He will now make his first foray into TV directing by helming a pilot for The Vatican, a look at the politics and power-play at the top of the Catholic church.
House screenwriter Paul Attanasio will pen the script for the episode for execs at U.S. network Showtime.
Scott has only worked in TV production before - he is an executive producer on hit political drama The Good Wife.
