BGT bust-up as Simon Cowell is soaked by Amanda Holden
SIMON Cowell gets a drenching on Britain’s Got Talent tonight after one of his decisions does not wash with Amanda Holden.
The dramatic moment comes after judge Amanda and her boss fall out over the fate of two contestants auditioning for the ITV talent show.
The singing duo strike a chord with Amanda, 42, and fellow judge Alesha Dixon, who dance to the act. But Cowell and fourth judge David Walliams are less enthusiastic and sound their buzzers to reject the duo.
While the girls are distracted, they press their buzzers as well. Then Amanda grabs a glass of water and wields it over Cowell’s head.
When smirking Simon, 53, refuses to change his mind and put the singers through, she tips it over him. Later, with tensions still high, the girls storm off after a second argument over dance group Pop’arazzi Crew, who wow the girls but leave the boys cold.
As they row, Amanda snaps: “I think we’ve had enough of the boys.” Cowell retorts: “Maybe we’ve had enough of each other.”
And as she and Dixon, 34, leave, Holden tells him: “Maybe we have.”
Walliams, 41, and Cowell carry on alone, mimicking the girls. Cowell tells one hopeful: “I’m Amanda. We’re here to be supportive.”
Eventually Amanda and Alesha return – but receive no apology. The 90-minute show starts on ITV1 at 7pm.
