Coleen Rooney defends herself and Wayne on Twitter after trolls send her abuse
COLEEN Rooney was forced to defend herself on Twitter earlier today after trolls bombarded her with abuse over the uncertainty of her husband's football career.
Manchester United fans took to the social networking site in their droves after it was revealed that Wayne is reportedly demanding a move from his current team, with a rumoured move to Chelsea of Arsenal on the cards.
And it looks as though some fans are more than ready to see the striker go and have taken to telling his wife exactly what they think about her husband.
The mum-of-two was forced to lash out at the commenters, calling them a "gang of cranks" after it all got too much.
"Grow up you gang of cranks," she wrote.
Before adding: "Everyone has there own opinion!! fair enough!! Now time to enjoy this beautiful weather!!"
However, some fans took to the site to air their anger over the abuse the fashion designer was getting.
"All this abuse @ColeenRoo is gettin over wat the papers & TV suppose to know ain't right people forget what magic @WayneRooney has done 4 us," one wrote.
While another added: "@ColeenRoo ignore the idiots who are giving you abuse! Tell Wayne I wish him the best if he moves on and thanks for way he has done at Manu."
Earlier this year, Wayne was booed at United's Premier League trophy presentation at Old Trafford, while supporters made banners telling him to leave during an open-top bus parade through Manchester city centre.
Suitors Chelsea were today reported to have opened the bidding for Rooney, who could also be a target for Arsenal.
But United are likely to be reluctant to sell to a rival Premier League side.
