Katherine Heigl sues New York pharmacy bosses over Twitter photo
Actress KATHERINE HEIGL is demanding £3.75 million from the bosses of a New York-based drugstore chain after they allegedly used her image on Twitter.com without her permission.
The Knocked Up star was photographed leaving a Duane Reade pharmacy with two bags full of purchases earlier this year (14) and the snap was featured in a tweet posted on the company's official social networking blog on 18 March (14).
The accompanying caption read: "Love a quick #DuaneReade run? Even @KatieHeigl can't resist shopping (at) #NYC's favorite drugstore".
However, Heigl has taken issue with the unauthorised promo and has filed suit to demand compensation, according to TMZ.com.
If she wins, the actress plans to donate the funds to her animal welfare charity, the Jason Debus Heigl Foundation.
