Leonardo DiCaprio hires out Man City owner''s mega yacht to watch World Cup in style
LEONARDO DiCaprio might well have just proved that he is the best friend a man can have, after apparently hiring out a mega yacht for his friends to enjoy the World Cup in style.
The Hollywood star, who jetted into Rio de Janeiro yesterday, is said to have hired the £400m yacht, named Topaz, from billionaire Man City owner Sheikh Mansour and plans to take 21 pals along for the ride.
It was initially thought its owner was on board after it docked in the city on Tuesday, sparking rumours he had gone to Brazil to do some World Cup talent spotting.
However, local reports revealed it had been hired by the ‘Wolf of Wall Street’ star, who is expected to travel the 300 miles to San Paulo later today to watch the inaugural match between the host nation and Croatia.
The 482-foot vessel, custom-built for Sheikh Mansour and launched in May 2012, is the world’s joint fifth largest private yacht.
It has three swimming pools, a gym, jacuzzi, cinema and helipad.
Meanwhile, Wayne Rooney has been raving about his England team-mates quality over in Brazil, revealing that he thinks their competitors should be worried.
Speaking at a recent press conference, he said: "It is exciting. The younger players in not just the team, but the squad, bring a lot of energy and excitement and it is great to be a part of.
"It is probably the best squad of players I've been involved with since I've been with England.
"I am looking forward to this tournament and the future with England. It certainly looks bright."
