Hugh Jackman's wife honoured in Australia
HUGH JACKMAN has expressed his pride after his actress wife DEBORRA-LEE FURNESS was honoured for her charity work in the couple's native Australia.
Furness has been named the New South Wales Australian of the Year for her work with adoption rights organisations and her campaign to change Australia's laws to make it easier for couples to take in orphans and needy children.
Jackman, who has adopted two kids with Furness, writes in a post on Twitter.com, "Proudest husband in the world. Congratulations to my amazing wife @Deborra_lee on the nomination for @ausoftheyear!! (sic)"
Furness will go on to compete for the national title of Australian of the Year along with other regional winners. The title, which was previously won by actor Geoffrey Rush, will be announced in January (15).
