Hunger Games sequel is a smash hit
JENNIFER LAWRENCE's new THE HUNGER GAMES sequel is on course to become the U.K.'s highest-grossing film of the year after taking a massive £12.6 million in its opening weekend (21-23Nov14).
The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1 became an instant success in cinemas upon its release on Friday (21Nov14), easily outstripping its closest rival The Imitation Game, which remained in second place with £2.1 million.
Last weekend's (14-16Nov14) chart-topper, Interstellar, dropped two places to third, with box office sales of £1.9 million, and the top five was rounded out by Nativity 3: Dude, Where's My Donkey? £1.5 million and biopic Mr. Turner £356,700.
