Cilla Black's grave has been finally marked with a marble headstone
The Surprise, Surprise star, 72, was laid to rest at her home city’s Allerton Cemetery last August, just weeks after falling and hitting her head in Spain.
Last December a ghoulish yob stole the grave’s bronze memorial plaque.
Now her proper headstone marks the final resting place for the singerturned-television star – just a few feet from her parents’ graves.
She celebrated life in the living of it and loved to entertain
The black memorial is etched at its foot with a big Cilla – flanked yesterday by fresh white roses.
At the star’s request, underneath Cilla Black OBE on the headstone is the single word Singer.
Fans are expected to flock to the singers grave to see the memorial
Recording the birth and death dates of “Priscilla Maria Veronica Willis, nee White”, it adds: “Beloved wife of Bobby, Devoted mother and grandmother.
"She celebrated life in the living of it and loved to entertain.”
The headstone contains some of her most famous song lyrics
Lyrics from some of her most famous chart hits – including Step Inside Love and Alfie – also feature.
Yesterday, news of the new headstone brought fans of the charttopper to flock to take pictures.
Cilla's funeral was over 7 months ago now and fans were wondering when a memorial would be installed
Music student Cerys Thornton, 37, of The Wirral, said: “Lots of people will come here. Cilla was an important part of Liverpool modern culture.
“My mum has already told me she and her friends want to travel down this week and take some pictures."
