Lucy Verasamy: GMB star 'slept with valuables under pillow' during 'frightening' holiday
LUCY VERASAMY, who presents the weather on Good Morning Britain, has slammed a hotel for giving her a “fright” during a trip.
The Good Morning Britain weather presenter recalled the time she visited Havana in Cuba and was shocked by her surroundings at the property she booked.
She said: “It was more where we stayed rather than the destination, but I went to Havana in my mid-20s and hadn’t done enough research.
“We arrived very late at night due to flight delays and the first place we stayed was a bit of fright – wires hanging out of the shower, marks on the floor tiles we convinced ourselves was blood, and dogs barking in the distance.
“We slept with our valuables under our pillow and left as soon as we could.
“I think the fact we were jet-lagged and disorientated made it even more dramatic.”

But despite the nightmare venue, Lucy, 37, insisted the rest of her trip “was fun".
The ITV star remembered another mishap abroad from her teenage years, explaining food in Austria was so bad, she had to live off sweets.
“I remember sharing a room – often involving bunk beds and talking late into the night and exploding into fits of giggles.
“Everyone had a crush on the handsome ski instructor during a skiing trip to Austria and the food was so bad we survived on Haribo sweets.”
Speaking more about her travelling memories, Lucy admitted she prefers her own company when jet-setting.
