AFTER feeble goalkeeping fumbles, dreary no score draws and those appalling horns that sound like the death cry of an elderly, incontinent buffalo, the World Cup needed a lift and it was provided by these 36 stunning Dutch fans clad in orange and cheering on their team.
Now it has been discovered that the exercise was a brilliant piece of “ambush marketing” for Bavaria Beer.
One of ITV’s pundits, Robbie Earle, helped provide the World Cup tickets, albeit possibly unknowingly.
Unbelievably, ITV has fired him. Personally, I would promote him and put him in charge of the network’s primetime programming.
