Not surprised that chocs are good for us
IT’S a fantasy headline for chocoholics. We’ve waited a lifetime to have our beliefs confirmed. Chocolate is a super-food. We knew that. It’s rich in antioxidants. We’d guessed that. It’s better for us than fruit. We could most certainly have told you that.
Chocolate does magical things for our mood swings, soothes and charms us, diverts and delights us. Fruit is phenomenal for bones, teeth and the waistline but isn’t a patch on chocolate for infusing a dull and dreary day with a fine patina of razzle-dazzle.
Scientists can bang on ad infinitum about fructose and cell regeneration but let’s face it, most of us hardly need an academic endorsement to persuade us that chocolate is the food of the gods.
