It's X-tremely sad
WHAT was the point of turfing out four acts on Sunday's X Factor if not to be controversial?
The decision to put three hapless individuals and one band through the ordeal of auditions, judges’ houses, boot camp and the live show solely in order to fling them straight back into the abyss of anonymity without even subjecting them to public vote was, some might say, really rather unkind.
Small wonder Kelly Rowland cried buckets and Tulisa struggled to speak while tears dripped off the end of her nose.
Both were well aware that they were sacrificing gifted singers prematurely for no purpose. It was a somewhat malevolent “twist”.
My guess is that outspoken former X Factor oracle Sharon Osbourne would have flatly refused to be a part of it.
