We'll all pay the price
SOME figures are so gigantic it’s hard to take them in. A new book warns that Gordon Brown’s mishandling of the economy has cost Britain £3trillion – or to put it another way, Labour’s incompetence, malpractice, greed and waste has cost every man, woman and child an eye-watering £50,000.
Government spending has more than doubled in real terms since 1997 but too much of it has vanished down a black hole without the nation feeling any benefit. Now we’re about to pay the price with huge cuts in services and jobs plus a national debt which will be a millstone around the necks of our children and their children.
What did we do to deserve this bunch of cowboys?
