Foreign tax cheats prove that we're an easy touch
ALL the squealing from the Left about the Government’s planned cuts in tax and welfare handouts conveniently ignores two glaring truths: that the fiddling going on is monumental and if we crack down on the cheats we’ll save a fortune
The gang of Ukrainians who conned the taxman out of £4.5million have exposed a huge weakness in the
customs and excise system in which tax rebates are handed out on trust.
As the judge at their trial put it, they must have thought the streets were paved with gold.
We have been too soft for too long. It seems that you just have to ask and you receive, whether you deserve it
or not.
Those of us born in this country who have worked and paid our taxes for years could be excused for thinking that
the easiest way to make money nowadays is to come from abroad.
The Ukrainian gang has made mugs of us all, defrauding taxpayers and blowing the money on Caribbean
holidays, luxury cars and loose women.
That was your money, remember, they were stealing. Throw them out immediately.
Much of the blame for this scandalous state of affairs must lie with the Labour ministers who for years ran a
disgraceful open-door policy, using the excuse that immigration was beneficial for the country. We can see who the true beneficiaries were – the criminals and the spongers who have sucked us dry.
