Prescott camps it up
ONE of the most unlikely denizens of a gay bar in Brighton must surely be ladies’ man John Prescott.
Yet the burly former Deputy PM chose the sumptuous seafront Charles Street gay bar and club complex in Kemp Town (known locally as Camp Town) to host a fringe meeting for his valiant but almost certainly doomed Go Fourth campaign, which aims to help Labour secure a fourth term in office.
The MP enthused over the using of networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter to help get votes, before scuttling off to Strasbourg to defeat climate change.
His “Tweet For Victory” rally was followed by the cheekily named Only Party In The Village staged by a gay Labour group. But the libidinous Prescott ensured that his trip to Kemp Town was not too New Labour. “Prezza pointedly posted a picture of himself from the meeting on Twitter with a trio of attractive female supporters,” reports our crestfallen Charles Street regular.
