JK Rowling in the doghouse with neighbours
JK ROWLING'S fears over security have led to grumbles from her new neighbours after she was granted planning permission to build a three-bedroom house for her bodyguards in the grounds of her £2million Edinburgh mansion.
The Harry Potter author, 44, with an estimated fortune of £500million, has also been given the green light to install kennels for guard dogs.
Building plans did not go before councillors and were approved under “delegated powers”. But officials have over-ruled a complaint by neighbours that the guard dogs will be excessively noisy.
It is not the first time she has had trouble with neighbours. The author sparked a row when she submitted plans to raise the height of the walls at her previous home in the city, following threats from a stalker.
