Lesley's Glastonbury dream
JAY-Z’S controversial headlining spot at Glastonbury seems to have ignited the hopes of other unlikely festival wannabes.
Opera singer Lesley Garrett, right, says that she is desperate to perform to a field of muddy youngsters and has even bought the boots in preparation.
The 53-year-old soprano gushed: “I’d love to do Glastonbury.
“Ever since I saw Shirley Bassey at the event last year I thought it looked great fun.
"Plus, I have a very nice pair of wellies for the occasion – so I’m just waiting for that call.”
No offence Lesley but a robust soprano performance, no matter how amazing, could be a bit much after four pints of scrumpy and an afternoon in the techno tent.
