Sony are planning their own comic book universe, spun off from the Tom Holland Spider-Man films and Hardy is set to star as Venom in a film of the same name.
Now it looks like Star Wars actor Riz Ahmed will co-star the upcoming movie.
The British actor played Bodhi Rook, who helps Felicity Jones’ Jyn Erso steal the Death Star plans, in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.

According to Variety, Ahmed is in early talks for Venom with sources saying he will play “a popular Marvel Comics character.”

Although Tom Holland's Spider-Man continues to cross over between the big studio blockbusters, the Venom movie will exist completely independently of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and its Web Slinger.
Venom was last portrayed by Topher Grace, in 2007’s Spider-Man 3.
