Deadpool 3: Director David Leitch ‘would love’ to return for third movie - After X-Force?
DAVID LEITCH has said he’s open to returning to the Deadpool universe by working on its third movie.
Action-packed Deadpool 2 to be released in May
Leitch helmed Deadpool 2 and has hinted he would be interested in making the follow-up.
It’s unclear at the moment when a Deadpool 3 will be made, given that Ryan Reynolds has indicated that an X-Force film - involving Deadpool - will come first.
But Leitch told Den of Geek: “No, I'm not necessarily one and done. I would love to work with Ryan and Rhett and Paul and Simon again.
“We just had a really good time and I love this world, and I love this universe, and I love the character that he's made so endearing to the fans, and so I would be grateful to work on something again.”
He added: “It just depends on time and place, so we'll see what happens.”
Reynolds had told Lorraine Kelly on UK TV last month that, whether it’s before or after X-Force, a Deadpool 3 is essentially guaranteed to happen at some point - with Wolverine, if he has his way.
"Yes, we have the suit,” he said.
"I badger Hugh Jackman weekly to put the claws back on."
He also beamed: "It's the role I feel most privileged to have in my entire career.
“I feel like I was sort of born for it. I love Deadpool. It's the miracle of the mask."
He added: "With the first movie, I put it on and I thought, 'We're done, we're dead, this is never going to work'.
"I took a camera for two days, I played with stuff, I learned – not unlike a silent film, or Marcel Marceau – you just have to be bigger.
"You just have to go bigger and push through the mask and somehow it works."
Deadpool 2 is out now.
