Muse: The Resistance
GRANDOISE, bombastic, self-important, absurd – Muse are a sort of modern-day Queen of the apocalypse.
They would be terrifying if they weren’t so ridiculous or their symphonic rock so hell-bent on sheer, unbridled entertainment.
Lead singer Matt Bellamy goes even deeper into beloved matters of paranoia on The Resistance, painting an Orwellian picture of Britain where people must “rise up and take the power back” against impossible odds.
Silly, vaguely unsettling but to be applauded for its sonic inventiveness.
