Elvis Presley’s very first record acquired by Graceland - Listen to King’s vocals here
Elvis Presley's very first commercial recording has been acquired by Graceland and fans can listen to The King's original vocals in the video below.
Elvis Presley gathered at Graceland today to pay tribute to The King on what would have been his 89th birthday.
Wink Martindale, who was there the night that the star’s first commercial record of That’s All Right was played on WHBQ radio, made this year’s birthday proclamation for his late friend.
And that was just before Graceland announced that they had acquired Elvis’ original acetate of the single that launched his career when it was first played by Memphis DJ Dewey Phillips.
Recorded in 1954, the acetate is set to go on display at the Memphis mansion.
And to prove it was the real deal, it was played on a record player in front of The King’s birthday cake for fans.
