Review - White Lies: Ritual (Polydor)
WITH this second album from the British band the Eighties are back to the extent that it’s probably time to start putting shoulder pads in everything.
In fact the sound is so totally lifted from the decade that you almost wonder what the point is: guitars, anthemic synths, a driving beat and a voice that is the perfect hybrid of Spandau Ballet and Human League.
Add a video to the first single Bigger Than Us that is a re-run of classic Eighties movie ET and you might as well get out your Rubik’s Cube and be done with it.
Verdict: 3/5
