Just days after his sudden death at the age of 57, fans are struggling to accept that their idol has gone as new reports claim that Prince worked six days in a row without sleeping just before his death.
The pop icon has started a new purple reign at the top of the UK album charts and his albums fill all five of the top spots , with his 2001 retrospective The Very Best Of leading the Albums Chart Update.
In America, Prince has sold a huge 650,000 albums in the last four days, compared to just 1,400 copies in the three days prior to his death. The music icon has also sold a staggering 2.8 million singles with Purple Rain (323,000 copies) and When Doves Cry (245,000 copies) the clear fan favourites.
Closer to home, 16 of Prince's classic albums have re-entered the UK Top 100 with five of these inside the Top 40.
1999 is currently at No 18, with the Parade soundtrack at No21, Diamonds And Pearls at No25, Hitnrun Phase One at No30 and Lovesexy at No39.
This is only the first Official Albums and Singles Chart update of the week so it's perfectly likely that his albums will continue to race up the charts before the final positions are announced at 6pm on friday.
It's a similar picture in the singles charts, where six classic tracks are dominating the Top 40.
