The 30-year-old singer has been on a break following her world tour for 25, her third album, which ended last year.
But now it looks like Adele is back prepping for her fourth album, alleges a music insider.
According to The Sun, the singer had a meeting with Sony in London about the project and she’ll now spend the summer writing new material.
A music insider said: “She's back in the UK and intends to write here.”
They added: “A number of studio musicians have been approached to work with her and she's already penned some of the songs.”
The source also said Adele’s fourth album is set for release in Christmas 2019.
Her last album, 25 achieved platinum status 11 times, while its predecessor 21 is the fourth highest-selling in the UK.
The cast recording of the hit musical film scored its eleventh week at Number 1 on the Official Albums Chart, matching Adele's 2011 album 21 for the longest consecutive run at the top spot in the last 30 years.
Then in June The Greatest Showman managed to top Saturday Night Fever as the longest-reigning No 1 soundtrack in 50 years.
Of course with Adele’s fourth album on the way, perhaps 12 consecutive weeks are possible?
