Daily Express fashion expert CLAIRE BRAYFORD offers smart advice on all your style dilemmas
Q PLEASE rescue me
from my denim hell. I feel I've tried on hundreds of pairs of jeans but all too
often they're stiff around the waist and lose their shape along the leg. Can
you help?
Laura, 27, London
A RECENTLY a fashion
editor friend of mine admitted she hated wearing jeans. She could never find a
style to fit her curvy shape that was actually comfortable, despite being
bombarded with new niche denim brands almost every week.
Then she was
introduced to Lofli, a new jeans label that, she claims, are more than just
hype and styling.
They are huge in
America with stars including Jennifer Aniston and Angelina Jolie ordering
several pairs. They have yet to make headlines over here, although the first
1,000 featured on asos. com last month sold out in a week.
The secret to their success is all in the fit - there is no unsightly gape at the back but they are cut low enough to flatter without flashing your underwear and they sit snugly on the hips without digging in or giving you lovehandles.
In fact, they pull
you in and lift you up without a hint of stiffness and they don't even need to
be washed to retain their shape.
The only downside is
they are not cheap - prices start from £160 - but that is because they are made
from the finest Japanese denim that is incredibly soft and they are treated
with a special dye that does not fade even after months of washing.
Available in 45
different fits including classic straight leg, bootcut, flare and skinny, as
well as this season's must-have stonewash, they could be the answer to your
denim prayers (asos.com).
Fashion footnote: If you would love to find a
bra that feels like it has been made especially for you, but doesn’t cost the
earth, you must check out M&S’ new Perfect Fit range. It uses the latest
memory-foam technology - exclusive to the UK - that is soft and luxurious but
contains pliable memory pads that mould to the natural contours of your body.
It is also seamless beneath your clothes.
Available from April in sizes 32A to 40DD, bras
£20, knickers, £8. (www.marksandspencer.com)
