Week of dealings
IAN BOWNESS invested almost £100,000 in United Carpets Group on Thursday buying at 8p a share. He is the only director to have bought into the retailer but it was his first foray since March 2008. The shares have doubled in the past six months.
A pair of directors bought into wealth manager Arbuthnot Banking Group, where shares have recovered sharply. Neil Kirton and Gary Jennison jointly added 23,000 at 362p, with Jennison buying for the first time despite occupying his board seat for three years. Michael Kloter bought 400,000 Argo Group shares at 10p, helping it close at 12p on Thursday, their highest for almost a year.
