Summer sun is a boost to Primark
STRONG summer sales of footwear and dresses put Primark owner Associated British Foods on course for higher profits.
Finance director John Bason said better weather this summer than last year had helped like-for-like sales at Primark rise 7 per cent over the year to September 12.
“Good weather in April and May when people start buying their summer items has helped us.
“We got the sun when we wanted it,” he said. “We expect some progress in our full-year profits.”
