LESOTHO diamond explorer Kopane Diamond Developments sparkled yesterday, soaring 9¼p to 16½p. Amid speculation that the company was set to announce a deposit valued at over £1.5billion, Kopane said it was expecting an updated independent resource report shortly.
Kopane’s rising fortunes rubbed off on mining group Obtala Resources, up 2½p to 18½p, which has a near-30 per cent stake in the company.
A positive production update boosted Gulf of Mexico-focused oil and gas explorer Leed Petroleum ½p to 14¼p, while a reassuring trading report lifted engineer Fenner 16p to 133p.
Van hire company Northgate extended recent gains by 1p to 23¾p as broker Panmure Gordon turned buyer from its previous hold stance ahead of a likely AGM statement next week.
Interactive gaming company NetPlay TV climbed 1¼p to 30p on the back of a deal which will see its SuperCasino.com interactive television how broadcast on Five in late night teleshopping windows.
