Alexon bid gives shares a boost
THE owner of Bay Trading and Ann Harvey fashion stores yesterday announced a takeover approach for the company.
Alexon shares jumped 4p to 33¼p after the company rejected the bid.
Speculation has been building over Alexon recently after the company upgraded profit forecasts earlier this year and said there had been a “pleasing” reaction to its spring ranges.
The firm, run by former Peacocks executive Jane McNally, operates 1,000 outlets in the UK and Europe.
