Popular YouTuber shares hidden button that makes Mercedes-Benz more practical in seconds
One of YouTube's most popular motoring experts has shared his favourite hidden feature in the new Mercedes SUV that can increase its carrying capacity.
A popular motoring YouTuber has shared his favourite hidden button on the latest Mercedes Benz that can help to boost the car’s practicality.
Mat Watson regularly road tests a wide variety of cars, posting videos to his YouTube channel in which he shares his thoughts on how they drive and shows off their coolest features.
In a recent YouTube Short, Mat shows viewers that pressing a small button on the tailgate of a Mercedes-Benz GLC can activate a feature some owners may not be aware of.
He said: “What do you think this button does? Have a look. So, here it is, I’m going to give it a little flick.
“I can hear a whirring; I can hear a whirring. What’s that? Ooh, look at that. Lovely. Anyway, I’ll see you later.”

In the video, Mat raises the Mercedes’ electronically controlled tailgate and presses a small button on the edge, which activates a small red light.
Whilst no massive changes were immediately obvious, Mat noted a whirring noise came from the rear bumper before a tow bar appeared from within.
The retractable tow bar can be used to haul items such as trailers or caravans within seconds but can quickly be stowed away to be protected against grit and keep the car looking normal.
