Sealing broccoli in confined spaces can accelerate the breakdown process of this gas, leading to faster spoilage.

If your broccoli is moist from the store or washing, be sure to thoroughly dry it before placing it in the refrigerator.

Also used to the issue of broccoli going bad before its time, a thrifty woman, @homiecolelction on TikTok, headed over to the social media platform to share how she preserves her broccoli.

“I don’t know about you but I eat a lot of broccoli,” she started off in a video.

“I like to make sure that I have it chopped and prepped for the week so that whenever I’m ready to make a salad or roast it, it’s ready to go and I can eliminate the prep time.

“The first thing I do is chop it up into thinner, smaller trees. Then I toss them into a bowl with some white vinegar and water to make sure that they’re thoroughly cleaned.

“I let it sit for about five minutes, and then I rinse it out with some fresh water.

“Once they are properly rinsed and dried I’ll then put them into a clear organizing bin.
