Over on social media, Julianne Taylor shared her way of preserving her cheese for quite a bit so you don’t have to chuck yours in the bin before it's time.

Taking to TikTok, she said: “Do not avoid buying those big blocks of cheese for fear of it going bad.

“You could save a lot of money by buying cheese in bulk.

“I cut off the edge of the packaging to create a little hat. I slice off some cheese and the end goes right back on to keep the block from going bad,” she finished off.

People left comments on the cheese-conserving hack.

With another suggestion, one person wrote: “Or just use a ziplock bag.”

To which the content creator responded: “I’ve tried ziplock bags and they don’t allow the cheese to “breath”. It always go bad. This tip works for me every time.”

Someone else offered a solution, writing: “I just cut it up and freeze what I don't want right now.”

Someone, who said the hack works for them, wrote: “I heard the wax paper is why it stays fresher! Plastic wrap kills cheese. I do this too, always works and the cheese lasts a LONG time.”
