This simple air fryer egg recipe, similar to the popular eggs en cocotte (or baked eggs), makes a delicious breakfast for four in just under 10 minutes.

With only a handful of ingredients, you can prepare a satisfying meal with minimal prep so you can get on with your morning.

Ingredients

Four eggs

80ml (1/3 cup) thickened cream

40g (1/3 cup) pre-grated pizza cheese blend

Chopped fresh chives, to serve

Thinly sliced sourdough bread, toasted, to serve

Instructions

Crack an egg into each of four ovenproof ramekins or similar dishes, each holding 160ml. Add a tablespoon of cream on top of each egg and sprinkle with cheese.

Arrange the ramekins in the air fryer basket. Cook at 160°C for seven minutes for a runny yolk.

After cooking, let the ramekins sit for one minute to finish setting and cool slightly. Use an oven mitt or a dry tea towel to carefully remove the hot ramekins from the air fryer.

Garnish with chives and pepper, and serve with toasted sourdough.
