Freshly cut hydrangeas are a great addition to your home. Some are fragrant, and the array of colors can brighten up your abode.
A hydrangea devotee, Krystal Blanchette, has shared how she gets her flowers to stay looking fresh for up to two weeks with the help of a simple product.
Start by snipping your hydrangea off the bush like usual. Next, you’re going to grab the secret ingredient behind making the freshly snipped flowers last longer, some Alum Powdered.
The TikTok content creator said of the product: “I honestly have no idea what this stuff, [Alum Powdered], is even used for, but it is in the spice section at the grocery store.”

Krystal explained how to use the alum to keep your hydrangeas fresh for weeks. “I just put a little bit in this bowl, and you’re just going to dip the end of the stem in it.
“And I dip it until it’s fully coated, the whole cut part. And I swear to you, I have never had hydrangeas last so long.”
The content creator shared that before she started doing her hack, her flowers would start wilting in only a couple of days.
